Struggling AIG close to selling 21st Century, source says

Bailed-out AIG is close to a deal to sell its 21st Century Insurance subsidiary to the parent company of Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles, according to a source with knowledge of the talks. 21st Century, based in Woodland Hills and a major player in the California auto insurance market, could fetch $1.5 billion to $2 billion, the source said.
