Capstone Turbine Corp. received a $1.5 million order for microturbines, upgrades and training for use on off-shore oil platforms. GIMSA International made the order of $400,000 in microturbine systems from Chatsworth-based Capstone for deployment on a Petroleos Mexicanos platform producing crude oil and gas. PEMEX subsidiary Integrated Trade Systems, Inc. made the $1.1 million order for equipment upgrades, spare parts and training. With their small footprint, high reliability, light weight, low emissions and extended maintenance periods, Capstone microturbines offer a tremendous value proposition for offshore platforms, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Jim Crouse said.
