SAG, producers set to meet again Wednesday

SHERMAN OAKS – The Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will resume negotiations amid an escalating dispute between SAG and a smaller performers’ union and the appearance of fissures within SAG’s own leadership. SAG and AMPTP representatives met Tuesday, their eighth negotiating session since bargaining resumed May 28. SAG and the AMPTP also met 18 times from April 15 through May 6 without reaching an agreement. The contract expires June 30. SAG and the alliance have not released details regarding the substance of their discussions. In contrast, SAG and the smaller American Federation of Television and Radio Artists have been highly vocal about each other.
