Santa Clarita Among Top 5 Most Business Friendly Cities

Santa Clarita was named among the most business friendly cities in the Los Angeles region by the Los Angeles Economic Development Commission. They city was recognized for practices that include no business license tax or fees; the start of a development one-stop to streamline city permitting; no utility user fee; a new designation for the state’s Enterprise Zone for 2007; a City/Sheriff Business Alliance program; and providing city-based businesses with a Sheriff liaison. The city is honored to be named to the list for a second year in a row, said Mayor Marsha McLean. “We work diligently to make sure our city’s practices help business thrive, while providing our residents with a choice to work locally,” McLean said. Additionally, the City is a finalist for the EDDY Award, to be given on Nov. 6, which the LAEDC introduced in 1996 to celebrate organizations that demonstrate exceptional contributions to positive economic development in the region.
