Income Skyrockets for NTS

Net income rose by more than 200 percent in the second quarter for engineering and evaluation services firm National Technical Systems Inc. Growth for the quarter for the Calabasas-based company came from an expanding aerospace market and healthy defense market. “These markets generate higher margins and have positively impacted our bottom line,” said National Technical Systems CEO William C. McGinnis. NTS reported a net income of $770,000, or $0.08 per diluted share, on revenues of $31 million for the second quarter ending July 31. That is a 212 percent increase over the net income of $247,000, or $0.03 per diluted share, on revenues of a $28.4 million for the second quarter in fiscal 2007.
