Disney Pledges $2 Million in Fire Aid

The Walt Disney Co. pledged $2 million in aid toward relief efforts for victims of the recent wildfires in Southern California. The Burbank-based entertainment conglomerate will give $200,000 to the American Red Cross for immediate relief efforts. The remainder is earmarked for volunteer centers and future rebuilding, including restoration to the environment. Volunteer and outreach efforts by the company will distribute care packages at shelters throughout the area for displaced families. “As a responsible member of the community, the Disney company hopes our donation and relief efforts will aid emergency management teams and organizations as they provide assistance to those impacted, as well as bring some hope to those struggling in the aftermath of this disaster,” said President and CEO Robert Iger.
