DIC Entertainment alleged in a federal lawsuit that its Trollz doll brand has been harmed by illegal knockoffs. Burbank-based DIC claimed in the filing made Oct. 24 that Troll Company A/S knew of unauthorized sales of the Good Luck Troll when the Troll Company licensed the doll to DIC in 2003 to make an updated version. The suit also alleges that Troll Company, based in Denmark, assured DIC that it had been vigilant in stamping out counterfeits of the Good Luck Troll. The company seeks $20 million in damages, plus attorney’s fees and punitive damages.
