Talks Resume Between Writers, Studios

Scriptwriters and the major studios were scheduled to return to the bargaining table Nov. 26 to discuss a new contract to settle a three-week old strike. The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers are in disagreement on how to compensate writers whose work is distributed on the Internet and mobile devices. An estimated 50 television shows and a handful of feature films have stopped production due to the strike that had writers picketing outside the major studios, including The Walt Disney Co. headquarters and Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank; NBC Universal in Universal City; and CBS Studio Center in Studio City.
