Officials will break ground Friday on the $36 million University Center at College of the Canyons in Valencia. The 110,000-square-foot building will house various bachelor’s, master’s and doctorial degree classes from colleges across the region. The arrangement will allow Santa Clarita Valley residents access to numerous educational programs outside the area. Plans are also in the works to house the College of the Canyons Economic Development Department, an advanced-technology business incubator and the William S. Hart School District Academy of the Canyons Middle School in the building. Construction is scheduled to finish in September 2008.
