Sheffield Acquires Two Aerospace Companies

Sheffield Manufacturing, Inc. acquired two aerospace companies serving Northrop Grumman, Boeing and Lockheed Martin for $16 million. Fortune Manufacturing in Chino and Hermach Machine, Inc., of Torrance are both long-time providers for military and commercial aircraft. The opportunity to buy the two companies was brought to Sun Valley-based Sheffield by a private equity organization with aerospace interests. Kann Capital, of Century City, provided the funding for the purchases. “We are very pleased to have acquired two such excellent precision machining manufacturing companies to compliment Sheffield’s capabilities,” said its President Margarita DeWitt. “We share many of the same customers and we will now be in a position to better service our aerospace customers.” Sheffield won a large ongoing order with Northrop’s Joint Strike Fighter division.
