Capstone Loss Decreases for Fiscal 2007

Capstone Turbine Corp. reported a decrease in its net loss for the 2007 fiscal year ending on March 31. The Chatsworth-based manufacturer of low-emission microturbine systems reported a $36.7 million net loss, or a loss of $0.32 per diluted share, on revenues of $21 million. That is a decrease from the net loss of $47 million, or a loss of $0.50 per diluted share, on revenues of $24 million for the 2006 fiscal year. The net loss for the fourth quarter ending March 31 was $8.5 million, or a loss of $0.06 per share. That is a $3.3 million decease from the net loss of $11.8 million, or a loss of $0.12 per share for the same period in 2006. During the fiscal year, the company cut is research and development costs by 15 percent to $9.4 million when compared with the previous year. The company also lowered it expenses by spending less on labor and consulting, and decreasing development hardware and supplies.
