Diodes Inc. will distribute its semiconductors in Europe after signing an agreement with Silica, the company announced. The agreement with Silica allows Diodes to enhance its competitiveness and strengthen its brand recognition, company officials said. The Diodes sales, marketing, engineering and logistics office is located in Westlake Village. Silica is a division of Phoenix-based Avnet, Inc., one of the largest distributors of electronic components, computer products and technology services and solutions in the world. “Since entering the European market in 2001, we have consistently grown our sales and expanded our market share, successfully building our European customer base in the automotive, communications and industrial end-markets,” said Diodes President and CEO Dr. Keh-Shew Lu. “Diodes’ innovative products have been well received and we believe that Europe will make an important contribution to Diodes’ long term profitable growth.”
