Films made for the SCI FI Channel’s Saturday movie night franchise will be released on DVD under an agreement between Image Entertainment, Inc. and NBC Universal Television Distribution. In addition to the DVD rights, the multi-year agreement gives Chatsworth-based Image the right to make the titles available for digital download. SCI FI Saturday: The Most Dangerous Night of Television is the SCI FI Channel’s homage to the classic popcorn feature, a re-imagination of cinema’s most delectable sci-fi treats. “Terminal Invasion” starring Bruce Campbell will be among the first releases from the agreement, along with the highly rated “Manticore.” Image plans to enhance a number of these titles with ancillary features for release on DVD in North America.
