NBC Universal today announced plans to revamp its CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood, the first move in a proposed plan to revitalize the hilltop theme park and studio. The centerpiece will be an overhaul CityWalk’s 18-screen movie complex, which will include adding stadium-style seating and advanced acoustics. The remodel is expected to finish by May. The studio also plans to add an indoor skydiving wind tunnel called SkyVenture Hollywood and a new Andrews’s Panda Inn restaurant. Last year, NBC Universal announced a $3 billion, 10-year proposal to upgrade CityWalk, the theme park and back lot and add a residential element on the western edge of the facility.
