Chamber Members Sound Off on Value of Membership

What’s the No. 1 benefit you want to get out of your chamber? Stephanie Warren, Calabasas Chamber of Commerce, Agent with Ewing & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty. “I’m in real estate, so it’s who you know. The chamber helps with me with that. It’s good visibility. We accomplished so much last year, I want to continue with those programs and gain even more. To give our chamber members tools and continue to grow.” Carl Goldman, Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, President of KHTS-AM in Santa Clarita. “Our involvement is good for business. It gives us a hand-on on issues in the Valley. From a personal standpoint, this is our community. We’re residents here. So it gives us the ability to have a direct impact on the issues we feel are important. In Santa Clarita, because the chamber is so large, it’s been able to extend into a lot of areas smaller chambers aren’t able to. We will expand on it this coming year.” Lisa Bailey, Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce, Marketing director for Four Seasons Hotel, Westlake Village. “I feel it’s important to embrace the community in which I live and work. I’m looking forward to the pleasure of my tenure over the next three years.” Ken Doyle, Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce. Director of marketing for Warner Pacific Insurance. “I live in Thousand Oaks, I really love the Conejo Valley. I’m doing it strictly because I want to improve the community. My theme as chair this year is ‘taking it to the streets’: increasing the memberships, retaining members and board members being more involved.”
