Teledyne Buys Maker of Infrared Detectors

A subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc. has acquired a manufacturer of infrared detectors based in Pennsylvania. The terms of the deal between Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC and Judson Technologies were not disclosed. Teledyne Scientific is a subsidiary of Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies Inc. Judson, based in Montgomeryville, Pa., makes high performance infrared detectors for military, space, industrial and scientific applications. The company had sales of $13.8 million for its fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2006. “With the acquisition of Judson, Teledyne will be able to provide a substantially wider range of visible and infrared detectors, integrated subsystems and camera products,” said Teledyne Chairman, President and CEO Robert Mehrabian.
