On Assignment Revenues Soar

The Calabasas staffing firm On Assignment tallied a 14.7 percent increase in revenue during the third quarter 2006 compared to last year, the company reported Monday. Revenues for the quarter ended Sept. 30 totaled $75.6 million, with net income at $2.6 million, or $0.10 per diluted share. Earnings totaled $4.9 million. Lab support revenues were $30,588,000, up 14.9% compared to $26,615,000 in the same period of 2005. Healthcare staffing revenues also increased 14.6 percent to $45.1 million, as did nurse travel, which jumped 13.3 percent to $32 million. The revenue gain is the largest the company has reported since 2002. In a statement released by the company Monday, On Assignment President and CEO Peter Dameris said the increases were a result of keeping high gross margins and reigning in selling, general and administrative expenses. “Based on our third quarter results, continued strong demand in all of our divisions and on the momentum that we’re experiencing in the fourth quarter, we are raising our full-year revenue and EPS estimates for the third time this year,” he said.
