DTS, Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire an online booking and scheduling system for theatrical films. Digital Booking Systems allows for a more efficient process of booking playdates, scheduling showtimes, programming trailers, tracking data and facilitating film rental payments. The company is currently owned by FilmStew International, Inc., a provider of online news and reviews for the motion picture industry. Agoura Hills-based DTS, Inc. and FilmStew will work together to assure a seamless transition for existing customers, said DTS Cinema Division Senior Vice President Don Bird. “The integration of DBS’ services to DTS’ Cinema division extends our company’s commitment to delivering tools and products that expedite workflow for cinema exhibitors, distributors, as well as studios,” Bird said.
