Outlook Good in North LA County

Attendees at a conference on the economy of the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys heard an analysis and forecast for the regions that was generally upbeat. Real estate consultant John Burns told the nearly 300 attendees gathered at the First American Title Company’s annual North Los Angeles Real Estate and Economic Outlook Conference that homebuilding in the Antelope Valley should remain strong and attract large public builders in the future. Thanks in part to population and job growth, the region is expected to continue to see increases in selling values for homes, said Dr. Mark Schniepp, director of the California Economic Forecast and another of the conference speakers. Noting that some 23,000 homes are in the development pipeline in the region, Schniepp told the audience that the projected increase in population will also drive retail sales and commercial development as well as an increase in professional services.
