Digital Insight Study Gives Online Banking Good Marks

Financial institutions with customers who use online bill payment had significantly higher benefits, a survey commissioned by Digital Insight Corp. has found. The survey of the company’s clients also showed that financial institutions have a higher retention rate of customers using online banking and those customers maintained higher than average deposit and loan balances. The study shows that online customers are more valuable than their offline counterparts, said Paul Witman, director of engineering for Digital Insight. “Online bill payers have deeper, more valuable relationships with their financial institution than offline customers an important strategic insight that can positively impact the business results of those institutions,” Witman said. Calabasas-based Digital Insight is a leading provider of Internet banking services, serving approximately 1,750 financial institutions and 6.3 million customers. The survey results were announced Tuesday at the “Serving the On-Demand World: Insights to Compete and Win” conference sponsored by Digital Insight in Florida.
