Health Net of California announced it has been awarded $225,000 per year for the next three years to help improve immunization rates for Medi-Cal patients throughout the state. The grant, awarded through the Governor’s Childhood Immunization Initiative, will see the health plan partnered with the Los Angeles-Orange Immunization Network to increase health care providers’ participation in LINK’s immunization registry. Health Net will focus its efforts on physicians who provide children’s health services through Medi-Cal. The immunization registries allow doctors to review a patient’s complete immunization history, identify which shots are due and send reminders, all of which helps improve efficiency and reduce duplicate immunizations.
