The Van Nuys-based Air Group, a full service aircraft management firm, has unveiled plans for a new hangar complex at Teterboro Airport to serve private jet owners and charter customers. The new facility will be comprised of two 30,000-square-foot hangars and a 12,000-square-foot combination private terminal and administrative facility for the firm’s East Coast headquarters and flight operations. The Air Group initially plans to use the facility as a private transit terminal for its nationwide management fleet, plus as a base for expanding its East Coast management business. Air Group also plans to extend its FAR 145 maintenance capabilities to Teterboro through this new facility. In addition, set to move into the new Teterboro facility are The Air Group’s East Coast management, client services, and charter staff, all of which are now located in Elmwood, NJ. The new $15 million dollar facility is being constructed by Signature Flight Support and is slated to open in the fall of 2006. The Air Group Teterboro Terminal and Hangar will be state-of-the-art with the best computer and communications systems available today. It will be the largest of The Air Group’s eight U.S. locations, including its flagship headquarters at Van Nuys Airport. The Air Group also operates corporate aircraft based in Tokyo, Japan.
