Amgen Inc. announced that it has set up a company-wide South Asia Tsunami Relief Program and made an initial cash contribution of $1 million to the International Federation of the Red Cross. The Thousand Oaks biotech company also launched an internal Web site to collect donations from its staff. Staff contributions will be matched dollar for dollar by the company. The company’s matching gift program for the collection effort is expected to remain open for at least six months.
